Livingston Farmer's Market

I went with Vanessa and her sister, Nadeene, to the Livingston Farmer's Market on Thursday. They had lots of fresh fruits and veggies, plants, food, and crafty things! There was even a lemonade stand where you got to watch the guy make your lemonade! It was fun, and I'm hoping to go back a couple more times before I move up to Oxford.

They even had cute dog treats!

Peaches are my favorite, and next time I go I'm hoping to have more money with me so I can buy some. Peaches from the grocery store and Walmart just can't compare with the ones you get at the fruit stand or farmer's market.

There was a VW Bus behind one of the stands!

It had a California license plate.

That stand also had a dog!

The dog came up to us and wanted to be loved on and played with!

He just looked so happy being pet!

I got a strawberry lemonade, and I even got to watch the guy squeeze the lemons and mix the strawberries in!

There was live music, and Jason Turner was the performer for this week.

All the picnic tables had pretty flowers in Mason jars.

Nadeene was so sweet, and she's a really talented photographer just like both her sisters! (Their other sister, Roxanne, is also a photographer!)

Such pretty girls!

Photographer's Block

I've been experiencing a bit of "photographer's block" lately, so I thought I'd look through some photos from my favorite photographers, and some of my old photos, for inspiration. I looked at mine to see what I did right and wrong and to see what I probably could've improved on, and I decided to post some of them.

I like how I captured their personalities in this one!
I like the lighting in this one a LOT.

One of my favorite photos I've ever taken.

I wish I'd put more light on her face, since that seems to be the only part that isn't lit.

This photo needed a sharper focus.

Cups

Today Vanessa and I met up with Sara, and she drove us to a fruit stand with a cafe attached to it! It was SO cute! We're going to go back another time to take pictures.

After she showed us that, we went to Cups in the Quarter (one of our favorite spots to go - it looks like New Orleans!) and I got a large coffee and a blueberry danish. We sat outside and talked about photographers we like, some of Sara's models, and blogging! Then on the way back, we asked Sara questions and she gave us some tips and advice. We mostly talked about posing and shooting in manual mode (which I think I'm ready to start learning).

I had a really great time! And I always get super inspired after hanging out with those two, so I'm hoping to set up my first senior shoot on one of my days off this next week!

My coffee! It was a brunette frappe.

Sara always has really pretty lipstick!

I loved Vanessa's shirt! It was so cute!

We always sit outside behind Cups where there's pretty trees. (And shade!)

Clinton

Last Saturday (July 6), Sara took Vanessa and me around Clinton, Mississippi.  We got breakfast at Shipley's donuts, drove through the Mississippi College campus (where Sara is going to college in the fall), and drove around the Clinton area.  She showed us this huge mural that I fell in love with, mostly because there was a camera painted on the door.

She also showed us this cool area near the college, where there's a farmer's market every fall!

After we left Clinton, we drove around to more of Sara's shooting locations.  It was a lot of fun!
